Jim Buckmaster was the Old Tuner Guy. He built the business having been in the high-performance and racing industry for over 50 years. During that time that time he built street and racing engines, modified thousands of carburetors and distributors and reprogrammed the PCMs on the newer computer-controlled cars and trucks.
He was involved in many aspects of motorsports including Drag Racing, Oval Track, Ice Racing, Truck Pulling, Tractor Pulling, Sand Drags, Mud Bogging, Off-Road Racing, Road Racing, and Demolition Derby competitions. One lesson that Jim lived by is there is no substitute for quality components or quality workmanship. His goal was to strive to provide both to the best of his ability.
For the last decade of his life, Jim was focused on helping customers with over-the-road applications and working with owner-operators and small fleets to maximize the performance and efficiency of their engines. Unfortunately, Jim had some health issues and he passed away a few years ago. We have tried to carry on the legacy that Jim provided to us to continue to provide quality components, quality workmanship, and quality customer service.
